The NH Patriot Guard Riders is once again conducting our annual Cash Raffle to raise money for NH Veterans and First Responders. For those that don’t know the Cash Raffle is our single largest money making fundraiser and all money collected goes toward the NH PGR HOTH program.
What is the HOTH program? Good question, HOTH is short for Help on the Homefront and it was established at the National level and adopted here in New Hampshire as a way to give back to our communities. In NH all money collected for the HOTH program is used solely to benefit Veterans or First Responders right here in NH. The funds collected are used for such things as helping a someone pay rent, utilities, groceries, or car repairs or other items such as a donation to the NH Veterans Home Christmas Fund.
What is a Cash Raffle? The cash raffle consists of selling 500 raffle tickets for $10 each for a total raised of $5000.00. We then hold a drawing, where we choose five (5) winners who will each receive $500 for a total given back of $2500.00 leaving the NH PGR with the remaining $2500.00 toward the HOTH program.
How can I help? We need help selling the tickets. As you can imagine selling 500 tickets isn’t an overnight thing. This years drawing will be held on Sunday, September 16th at Elm Brook State Park in Hopkinton, which means we have until just before then to sell all 500 tickets. Shortly we will also be doing some fundraising days at a local location, such as a Walmart or grocery store, please keep an eye out for details on those as well.
Alright, I’m in what do I need to do? Excellent, to begin selling tickets you must first acquire some tickets, to do so please contact either Frank Clayton, fclayton@nhpatriotguard.org, or myself, statecaptain@nhpatriotguard.org. We will be more than happy to hook you up with some tickets to be sold in stacks of 10.
I don’t want to sell any tickets but I’d like to buy some? That’s alright, to purchase some tickets you’ll need to get in touch with someone that has some tickets. If you don’t know who is selling any please feel free to reach out to either myself or Frank Clayton and we’ll be happy to either sell you some ourselves or point you in the right direction.
Legal Disclaimers: Because the Cash Raffle is to some extent a form of gambling there are some legal requirements in which we must all adhere too. Tickets may not be sold in any state except NH, this most definitely includes mailing of the tickets. All tickets must be accounted for, all tickets to be sold must be signed for and all unsold tickets must be returned prior the date of the drawing. Any questions regarding these please contact Frank Clayton @ fclayton@nhpatriotguard.org.
