Greetings,
As many of you are aware typically about this time we would be putting out some information regarding our annual visit to the NH State Veterans Home on Christmas Day. Some members of the NH PGR have been doing this for a number of years and it is always an event that is looked forward too.
Unfortunately due to COVID an in person visit will not be possible this year. The Veterans Home has been hit particularly hard as of recently with increased cases among not only the residents but also the staff. As a result the Veterans Home is limiting all visitors to the home. This I’m sure was not an easy decision for the staff especially this time of year but in the interest of everyone’s safety it is warranted.
In addition to our yearly visit on Christmas Day we’ve also collected donations for the Veterans Home’s Sunshine Cart. The Sunshine Cart provides necessary items to the residents at no cost to them through donations. Originally we were still going to collect donations and then just drop them off to the Veterans Home at some point prior to Christmas, unfortunately the restriction on visits also includes a restriction on item drop offs, so as to not over inundate the staff with having to sanitize everything.
We have been in touch with the Veterans Home staff because we still want to help and we know you do too. So we are still going to collect donations, we are collecting donations of either physical items or monetarily. Any physical donations received will be held on to until such a time that is safe for us to pay a visit to the Veterans Home and drop them off, until then they will be collected and secured. Any funds donated will be collected and then we will mail a check to the Veterans Home so that the staff can use the funds to purchase items required for the Sunshine Cart.
If you would like to donate we have a couple of different options.
- To donate money you can use PayPal by sending your donation here.
- You can also mail a check made out to the NH Patriot Guard Riders and mailed to NH Patriot Guard Riders, PO Box 16273 Hooksett NH 03106
For any donations please indicate on your donation that you are donating it to benefit the NHVH’s Sunshine Cart.
